Path One Records started because none of our artists fit anywhere else.

Ask what kind of label we run and the honest answer is complicated. On any given week you might hear Afro house next to reggae, soul sitting beside a rap verse, funk bleeding into something we genuinely can't name yet. Some of our artists blend all of it into one sound. Others are just doing their own thing, full stop, and it happens to land somewhere nobody's mapped out before.

That's the whole point, actually. We didn't build this label around a genre because none of the people we work with fit inside one. What they do have in common is that the music comes from somewhere real, and they know exactly what they're trying to say with it.

So our job is pretty simple: stay out of the way. No pushing an artist toward what's trending. No asking someone to trim down the parts of their sound that make them who they are. If someone's got a vision, we help them get it made and put it out — that's it.

We're small on purpose. A handful of artists, each doing something genuinely different, all trusted to make the calls on their own work.
